ANSWERS FOR ATHLETES & PARENTS
Everything you need to know before training at Buckeye Pole Vault Academy — from getting started and session times to memberships, equipment, and our summer meet series.
Yes. We have an arsenal of poles available for athletes to use. Depending on the time of year and demand, we may or may not have the perfect pole for every athlete on every session. If you'd like to bring your own poles we absolutely encourage it, but it is not required to train with us.
Yes. All athletes (and a parent or guardian for minors) must complete and sign and registration forms prior to jumping at BPVA. This is a one-time process before your first session.
Getting started is simple. Fill out your Drop-In or Membership registration form online, then show up during any of the session times listed on our Calendar page. Our coaches will greet you, get you checked in, and walk you through everything from there.
All session times are posted on the BPVA Calendar page. There are no individual sign-ups required for each session — just show up during any open session time and talk to one of our coaches when you arrive.
Yes. At BPVA we allow all newcomers to stop in and try one session out completely free. If you enjoy the experience and feel it's a good fit, payment is required from that point forward to continue training with us.
Buckeye Pole Vault Academy trains athletes of all experience levels — from total beginners and middle schoolers exploring the event for the first time, to high school competitors and post-collegiate vaulters. Our coaches tailor instruction to each athlete's individual stage of development.
Wear athletic clothing you can sprint and jump in, along with running shoes (spikes are not required but recommended). Bring a water bottle. If you own poles, runway tape, or a vaulting bag, feel free to bring them — otherwise we'll set you up with everything you need.
Our facility is located at 4480 Beard Rd, Sunbury, Ohio 43074. We proudly serve athletes from Sunbury, Delaware, Columbus, Westerville, Powell, Dublin, Marysville, Mount Vernon, and the surrounding Central Ohio communities.
Drop-In is perfect for athletes who want flexibility and pay per session. Monthly memberships offer unlimited training at a discounted rate for athletes training consistently. Yearly memberships provide the best value with full-year access, priority scheduling, and additional perks for our most committed vaulters.
Yes! BPVA hosts a full Summer Meet Series at our facility. Every meet you enter automatically gives you one entry into our end-of-summer Pole Raffle. Early bird registration (2+ weeks ahead) is $30 per meet, and week-of registration is $40. Visit our Summer Meets page for the full schedule.
Absolutely. Parents and family members are always welcome to stay, watch, and support their athlete during sessions. We believe family involvement is a key part of an athlete's development.
